Information revolution my arse

I started noticing lots of posters on the tube about one company controlling all the traffic through the Internet, one company having the power over all your information etc etc.

However the posters contained no info other than these rash statements, and a link to http://www.information-revolution.org. Annoyingly I never remember to look it up when I get in front of a computer, and it is one of those things that I kick myself for forgetting every time I see it again (alas on the tube and not in front of a computer again…).

However today I remembered, and finally managed to discover what strange charity (or .org) would be blowing so much money and risking putting very little information on their expensive adverts.

Well shock horror when I loaded the site to see it was in fact a viral marketing ploy buy Ask.com, so rather then free your information they want you to give it to them. Not really a revolution is it, however I was interested by their free t-shirts… wait I must be stronger, must… resist… free… stuff…

I saw that. Did exactly the same thing and kept forgetting. Finally I looked it up on my phone – was on the DLR at the time so had GPS signal. Nice idea but seems to have massively backfired. Read some of the posts on the site they are slamming Ask. Oh and by the way….. why isnt there phone signal on the tube??! I mean its not rocket science?! I was in Hong Kong recently and they have it!! Anyway rant over.
