I found a link from Simon Wilson’s blog this morning with this simple quote, from Microsoft!
We’ve decided that IE8 will, by default, interpret web content in the most standards compliant way it can. This decision is a change from what we’ve posted previously.
At first I couldn’t believe it! I read the article on the IE blog, a few times, just to be sure, and part of me is still waiting for news to come out of Redmond about the blog being hacked!
I basically means that IE8 will render websites as they should be rendered, and people wanting IE8 to render websites as they rendered in IE7 will have to specifically ask!
You will remember I posted about this issue when Microsoft first announced they plan for IE8, expressing my concerns. It looks like Microsoft have taken note of the uproar, and done the right thing!

Does that mean it’s OK for them to buy Yahoo! now?
