BBC trial Flash for video content!
Jun. 8, 2007 2 Comments Posted under: Random
Finally!! The BBC has caught up with the rest of the web and moved it’s video player from the awful Real player to Flash!!
A while ago Aral posted on how the BBC didn’t get video on the web and at the time I agreed but understood that BBC isn’t a normal website, and changing over may not be that simple.
However the new player looks great and makes watching videos a breeze! You can also embed the videos into your blog (see below), just like YouTube and every other video site out there.
From BBC NewsApparently I have to add ( the From BBC News bit!!!)So what do you think? Well tell them here
Update:
Apparently they started the trial in May and there are a few stories out there using it, including this video of Tomb Raider Legend. For more info have a look at this story.

Hey Rob,
Yep, I was really happy when I heard they were doing this. It makes complete sense! :)
Not too sure why they have to do a trial, like anyone is going to say the prefer Real player…
Can’t wait for the sports to move across!
