Ghost Recon 2

Yesterday we managed to get hold of a copy of Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter 2 (GRAW2) early from a local shop. GRAW2 was more or less the game that swung it for me when I got my xbox, as I had seen a load of videos online and it really reminded me of SOCOM on the PS2. I started by playing a bit of single player to get a hang of the controls, which I though would be more or less the same as Rainbow 6 Vegas, but no they changed everything! The cover is now automatic (a bit like GOW) and due to the open terrains the players move a lot faster. The campaign was really cool though, controlling the UMV and remote controlled ammo trucks (Mule) worked really well, as did the game play, which thus far has included some sort of new game play feature on each level (controlling APC's, Air Strikes, Mini Gunning from Black Hawks etc). It was great playing along at the same time as Tom but chatting over Xbox live, one of the best features (now he has got is sorted). We played a bit of online action too, which was really confusing as they seem to have removed the cover system??? The games were cool though, but really need some team work to play well and get the most from it, which I hope will come with time :)

xbox live nightmare

REQUEST_URI in Flex

I recently found it very hard to discover the current URL in the browser from within my Flex aplication. I needed it so I knew which SOAP server to connect to depending on if the instance of the application was on dev, staging or live. So in order to get the current URI I used [...]

SVN ignore

I keep on forgetting how to create an SVN ignore file to SVN. So in an attempt to remember I though I would blog it, and hey it may even help someone else. First off you need to create a file with any files you want to SVN to ignore in: You can do this in Terminal [...]
