My First Flex App
16/03/07
Today saw the launch of my first Flex app and in fact my first every true commercial application.
The app is a statistics viewer for Ceros clients so that they can see how may people have viewed their CDEs (Ceros Digital Editions). It took about 3000 lines of code (MXML and ActionScript 3) and a lot of data being taking from Tom's web services and stats recording which is very pro!
I'm not sure I can show a screen shot without giving away much secretive info but will see what I can do when I am back from holiday next week.
I have found Flex interesting, some things are retarded (like the Adobe CSS which is nothing like CSS other than it cascades and it's a style sheet) but some things are great.
ActionScript 3 seems like a great language too, and am now looking forward to Flash 9 coming out!

Recently a number of my friends have started joining social networking sites, mainly myspace, as a way of wasting time at work I guess. Really there is no point in these sites other than meeting up with old acquaintances, who if you really liked you would have stayed in contact with anyway and seems only [...]
