A little help from up above!

SatnavTalk about heavenly intervention! No I haven't gone all preachy, well about technology perhaps. Over the Christmas holidays I have been doing a bit of driving to and from my girlfriends. Now normally I wouldn't have a clue about where to go, and probably end up getting lost and stressed. Fortunately my Dad recently got a Panasonic sat nav system for his birthday, and let me use it for my travels! At first I was afraid, not petrified just afraid, that it was going to lead me there via Scotland or take me through central London in rush hour but after setting up a few settings (shortest route rather than fastest) I managed to get back along the same route my girlfriend takes. The thing is fantastic, and really easy to use, especially when you have some GTA experience of following a HUD arrow around a level the country. Knowing which exit to take on round abouts and how far you have to follow a road is really handy, as is the current speed limit and your ETA at destination (especially when you try to beat it!!, don't try this at home children). Not only that but the device also acts as a blue tooth thingy so you can speak through it when driving, although phoning people is a little tricky as the phone menu is about 5 screens away from the map (perhaps your not meant to MAKE calls when driving!) We are planning to put the little fellow through it's paces when we go to France tomorrow, now what would be better through mountains in the snow, fastest route or shortest distance...
